Devin and Melissa started chatting on a Bulletin Board System called Lower Lights, and a couple years later met in person at Dee's Family Restaurant. Their relationship grew mostly through e-mails, chats, phone calls, and letters in the mail. While Devin left to join the U.S. Navy in 2000, the two of them stayed in touch. When Devin came to Utah to visit, he decided to ask Melissa to marry him and they were engaged on March 20, 2001. Their wedding took place on July 18, 2001 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

A couple days after the wedding they packed up and headed on the long 2,300 mile drive to New London, Connecticut. At this time Devin reported to the USS Pittsburgh SSN 720 (fast attack submarine). They both had to deal with the hardships of military life. They are now both excited to be reunited after Devin's return home June 7, 2005.
            

They are now living in their home in Utah. Devin is going to school at the University of Phoenix and working at the Salt Lake County Government Center. Melissa is working as a Certified Nurse Assistant/Home Health Aide.
